At long last, we have some new rug designs to share with you! These will be up on the site very soon, but we thought we would give our blog readers a sneak peek.
I am moving towards designing smaller collections as it is sometimes hard to make a single theme work for 6-8 designs. This approach will also give our product offering more variety as well as allowing us to get new collections out more quickly and frequently.
Without further ado, here are the two ‘mini-collections’ will be releasing in the very near future:
First up is our ‘Flight’ collection, with three designs inspired by the wings of insects such as butterflies and dragonflies. These designs have a looser, more painterly feel than our previous collections, while still maintaining our signature graphic approach. It felt great to get away from precise pen lines and play with loose brush strokes when designing this collection!
The second rug collection we are releasing is an extension of our ‘Geology’ wallpaper collection. Since our ‘Geology’ wallpapers have been so well received, we thought it only made sense to extend this popular theme into our rugs. I was able to bring out select repeating motifs from the wallpapers (such as the Geode and Prism) and reproduce them as standalone graphics on a large scale, to great effect! I was also able to sneak in a horizontal stripe design, which is something that tends not to work well on wallpaper.
